HISTORICAL DESCRIPTION


The State High School "San Vicente of Paul" that during the present year is turning 19 years of institutional creation to the student youth"s service, it was created in the year of 1982, according to Law R.D.R. No. 068, with the name of " Otuzco Alto", being its first Director teacher Antonio Celis Padilla. The 14th of September of 1994 is changed the name of the Educational Center by the one of "San Vicente of Paul", in merit to apostolic work in favor of the neediest.

With lapsing of the years, it was able to have a great welcome for the diverse family parents that inhabit many near rural places to the Educational Center; the merits have been achieved because of the joint effort that is carried out in constant form among the Direction, community, family parents, educational and students until becoming an leader institution among the Rural Educational Centers of the North Area of the country.

Among their most significant achievements we have: First Place during the last three years in Mathematics"s Competition organized by the Pedagogic Superior Institute "Hno. Victorino Elorz Goicoechea", first place in the School Civic Parade in the District of Baños del Inca, honorable prizes in the competitions of dances: First Place for "Danzante de Oro" organized by the Particular High School "Isaac Newton"; second Place in the festival of dances "Llanque de Oro", in the year 2000 and first place in the Festival of Dances "Llanque de Oro" in this year.


At the moment it has more than 280 students coming from diverse rural areas of the district and the province of Cajamarca city; we are working with a select educational staff qualified in the New Pedagogic Advances and New Technologies; also we have services of Library, computing, Dances and Tutorships; a modern infrastructure and starting from this year we are integrated to EDURED Project, one of the most significant achievements to enter to the spider"s web of the communications.

LOCATION OF THE EDUCATIONAL CENTER

The State High School "San Vicente de Paul" belongs to the Minor Populated Center of "Otuzco", district of Baños del Inca, province and department of Cajamarca city; Otuzco is one of the most picturesque Andean valley of the north mountains, because of its healthy climate, gentle and continuous greenery; pure and crystalline springs.

The Minor Populated Center of "Otuzco" is located to the northeast of Cajamarca city, 11 kilometers away from Main Square and located to the north of the district of Baños del Inca, from which is part according to the Law No. 13251.

South latitude : 07º 06' 32"

West Longitude : 78º 26' 56"



TOURIST RESOURCES

The Minor Populated Center of Otuzco has two types of clearly defined tourist resources at the present time: Those of cultural order and those of physical entertainment.

In the of physical entertainment order, you can point out the climate and the geographical landscape.



In those of cultural order they stand out, in very special way, all their existent archaeological remains; that is because of Ventanillas de Otuzco is the most grateful and it attracts many tourists every year.



In the same way, we can point out tourist resources of interest that impress and fascinate visitors.
